With over 17 years of expertise in gerontological nursing, Jessily John Panicker currently serves as the Director of Nursing, specializing in elder care. She began her nursing career in India, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, before relocating to Ireland in 2005. There, she spent five years as a staff nurse in nursing homes, during which time she developed a profound passion for geriatric care. This passion led her to pursue a Post-Graduate Diploma in Gerontological Nursing.
Since 2010, Jessily has held the position of Director of Nursing, while also earning a Master’s in Nursing Studies from University College Cork. Throughout her career, she has continually refined her expertise by completing a range of advanced courses in areas such as infection control, dementia care, and manual handling.
Since 2019, Jessily has also served as an esteemed faculty member and consultant at Consultise, where she has been delivering training to healthcare professionals. A dedicated educator, she is committed to sharing her knowledge and empowering nursing staff to provide compassionate, person-centered care. Her training programs encompass a broad spectrum of topics, including the management of responsive behaviors in residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia, effective communication strategies in dementia care, teamwork dynamics, and an introduction to Irish work culture within long-term care settings for the elderly.
Jessily’s extensive experience, combined with her unwavering commitment to improving the quality of care for older adults, has established her as a respected leader in geriatric care. She holds a Master’s in Nursing Studies and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Gerontological Nursing and is widely regarded as a distinguished Geriatric Care Trainer
